Qajaq W -Bathroom flooring

On the ferry Qajaq W, recently leaving Fiskerstrand Verft after rebuilding and maintenance, we have refurbished all crew bathroom floors with an epoxy flakes system.

The old acrylic flooring was completely removed and the steel repaired prior to building the new floor from scratch. By using an odorless epoxy system it has been possible for the crew to live and stay on board during the project.

On the epoxy screed underlay we have applied a blue epoxy base layer followed by a full broadcast of flakes in a blue mix. The surface is then sealed by a clear epoxy and strengthened by a gloss clear polyurethane finishing coat.

Qajaq W was originally built at Fiskerstrand Verft as their build No.63 Muhumaa in 2010, and was later renamed Grete. She is built for operation in the Baltic ice, hence probably a good replacement for the route in the Strait of Bell Isle in Canada.
